The Great Mayfly Swarm

In 2015, Artistry Engraving & Embossing Co. sponsored a professional print swap between many print shops across the world. The theme of this years print swap was insects & arachnids. The participants submitted artwork across multiple mediums; letterpress, screen printing, etching, and lithography. This print was awarded best of show.

Specs: Print was produced using a 1967 Vandercook Universal III printing press. This process will produce a tactile feel where the ink is pressed into the surface creating an impression. Printed 3 colors with a split fountain on a high quality cover weight 100% cotton paper, 8″x10″.

Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens

Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens 2016

Each summer, Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens hosts an exclusive garden party under the stars and within the beautiful grounds. Elegant typography and minimal color became the centerpiece for this years letterpressed system.

Fellows Riverside Gardens is a twelve-acre, free public garden located in Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio.

Printed on Reich Savoy Gray and Ultimate White 92# pure cotton paper.

The Mixed Up Alphabet of Cocktails

This limited edition letterpress poster and drink coaster set, incorporates unique illustrations and custom typography to showcase classic and modern cocktails for each letter of the alphabet. These pieces were created as promotional material for Type Twenty Seven. Both can be purchased on our web store at store.typetwentyseven.com.

RBF Colab Holiday Card

RBF CoLab is a Collaboration of Architecture and Design located in Youngstown, Ohio. This past holiday season, Type Twenty Seven create a holiday card for RBF’s current, and prospective clients. Reflecting their current image, the sophisticated color and simple design was a perfect compliment to their brand.

Aaron Draplin Event Poster

This letterpressed poster was designed by Nick Hafner and printed by Type Twenty Seven for visiting lecturer, Aaron Draplin and his visit to The University of Akron’s, Myer’s School of Art. He hosted two workshops for design students, and a public lecture one evening that drew in over 200 people.

37th Cleveland International Film Festival

Type Twenty Seven is proud to be the creative partner to the Cleveland International Film Festival, a non-profit organization that promotes artistically and culturally significant film arts through education and exhibition to enrich the life of the community.

This year’s CIFF37 campaign focused on the “festive” component of the event by showcasing bold colorful patterns that varied in each application.

 

Buildout included: merchandise, interior and exterior signage, screen graphics, kiosks and advertising.

38th Cleveland International Film Festival

Type Twenty Seven is proud to be the creative partner to the Cleveland International Film Festival, a non-profit organization that promotes artistically and culturally significant film arts through education and exhibition to enrich the life of the community..

In 2014, the CIFF held a record-breaking 12-day event by hosting 97,804 patrons (a 4.9% increase from the previous year), screening 186 feature films and 168 short subjects.

This year’s campaign focused on the international component by illustrating graphic imagery to represent the 68 countries of origin.

 

Buildout included: merchandise, interior and exterior signage, screen graphics, kiosks, advertising and augmented reality—a new interactive feature to bring the print elements to life.

Yoko Ono-Taubman Museum

Created in partnership with Yoko Ono, this gallery exhibition at the Taubman Museum of Art, located in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, showcases the art of Yoko Ono and John Lennon. Ono’s vision reflects her desire to engage the viewer through the use of stamps, postcards, flashlights and buttons.

Rutt Wedding Suite

A nautical inspired wedding on the shores of Lake Erie was the perfect complement to the invitation design.

The challenge was to incorporate the couples Irish heritage with this selected theme. The solution, a celtic knot element created from intertwined boat rope. This was used in various applications around the venue and in print material. The end result—rope, bold striping and some life preserver coasters to keep the wait staff from grabbing an unfinished beverage.
